Against the odds and amongst the dreamers, Dubwork brings us a flow and vibe dedicated to the daily grind. Born Lenny Lavergne to two Dominican Parents, Dubwork was raised in New York City and later relocated to New Jersey. Dubwork, or “Flaco” to friends and family, uses his music to fuse his East Coast American and Afro-Caribbean roots. Dubwork’s own love affair with music began back in his childhood, surrounded by musicians and music enthusiasts.
Raised in the “Golden Era” of hip hop, he began rewriting song lyrics to align with his own experiences. He then wrote and performed original lyrics and won the Faces in the Crowd competition during a performance in NYC at the famed SOB’s. Dubwork is focused on a legacy to inspire future generations to believe in their talents and trust in themselves. He wants to provide motivational music that pushes the culture forward. His competitive nature and belief in the power of creative visualization are the driving force behind his lyrics, which connects with his following.
